Work
Sensory Imprint is an immersive three-spread page publication of how touch shapes our connection to design, materials, and memory. In an era where our experiences are becoming more digital and detached, this project brings attention back to the physical, where presence is felt through surface, texture, and craft.
Photography was an important addition to the project, translating tactile experiences into a visual form. Tight framing isolates the hands, removing identity and context to focus on gesture and physical interaction. High-contrast lighting emphasises pressure, tension, and subtle details in the skin, making touch visually tangible. Minimal composition allows each image to stand as a quiet study of movement, contact, and space.
This project invites the reader into a sensory dialogue through tactile interventions such as stitching, poking, paper layering, and threading. Each material and technique is carefully selected to create a feeling that brings viewers closer to the work. This project reminds us that design is not only something to see, but something to feel, and that through touch, we access a more intimate form of understanding.
The accordion booklet features only the photographs and poetry, printed on transparent paper to create layers of imagery and text. The transparency allows the pages to interact visually as they fold and overlap, encouraging the viewer to explore the tactile and poetic connections between each spread.
